A reoccurrence is when someone who has previously battled the illness receives a further diagnosis, a secondary case is when the cancer spreads to another part of the body.
The revelation came following a question asked by MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew Jason Moorhouse in the House of Keys last Tuesday.
