Motorists who stepped in to help police deal with an incident in Santon last night have been asked to come forward.
Police have issued the appeal following the altercation at around 9.20pm on Cow Hill.
They say they had to detain people in a blue Nissan Micra and in doing so officers ended up in the middle of the road.
A number of drivers stopped to assist the police and they’ve now been asked to identify themselves.
No further details about the nature of the incident have been released.
