The Isle of Man Government is to establish a National Office for AI Development and Regulation.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan made the announcement during his welcome address at the Isle of Man Government Conference.
Mr Cannan said artificial intelligence brings major opportunities but also risks, warning that those unprepared will struggle to stay competitive.
The new department will help digitise public services as part of the government's plans to save £50 million over the next five years.
