The government says it's thinking about revamping the Island's debt collection system.
Treasury says it's considering changing the way the Island's coroners can collect civil debts after court cases.
Bill Shimmins MHK says the current system needs to be updated and made more effective, but would require new legislation approved by Tynwald.
