Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover has announced he'll defend his seat in this year's general election.
He says if re-elected, he'll look for a place on the Council of Ministers to represent the South at this level.
Mr Glover adds he'll be prioritising the cost of living and having the right people on the Island for the jobs available.
The Island will go to the polls on Thursday, September 24.
