Work has been getting underway this morning to restore gas supplies to hundreds of Manx residents who have been without it since yesterday afternoon.

Acting MD at Manx Gas Robert Gardner said Colby should be fully restored by today, when he spoke to 3FM at 11:30Hrs some properties had already been restored. He said if you haven't been visited by Manx Gas engineers to keep the mains switched off.
He said if the owner of the property is not in at the time of a vist, a note will be left by an engineer. They will be working throughout this evening to make sure everybody has their gas back on as quickly and as safely as possible.
