The Department of Infrastructure says delays to work replacing old rail bridges means a popular footpath in the west of the Island will be shut until May.
The former rail line in Orrisdale on the Raad ny Foillan needs new decks on two former rail bridges.
The DOI says it originally planned to use heavy-duty wooden beams but now needs to install steel beams instead.
It says they're on order and will be installed shortly - but in the meantime the bridges are unusable and a diversion will be in place until the work is finished.
