Police say around one person a week is caught using their mobile phone behind the wheel.
A Freedom of Information request to the Constabulary asked how many people had been found breaking the law.
In their response, officers say a total of 239 people were caught using their phones while driving in the past five years.
They were all either prosecuted or given fixed penalty notices.
