Computer parts and shoe soles are among the items being fished out of Manx waters as part of a recently launched scheme.
The Fishing For Litter (FFL) initiative involves the government providing fishermen with reusable marine litter sacks to pick waste out of the seas - the refuse is then brought to shore and put into designated bins.
Steve Griffin, skipper of the Manx vessel 'Frey', is involved in the scheme and is backing the concept saying it helps to clean up the sea which gives him his living.
Meanwhile, Environment, Food & Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot MHK, says a healthy marine environment is vital for everyone, especially for those in the fishing industry.
