The first phase of one of the Island\'s largest infrastructure projects has come to a close.
Gas engineers have now made over 9,000 customer visits carrying out full gas safety inspections in more than 6,700 properties as part of the pre-conversion survey.
During the survey engineers identified a number of unsafe appliances which they have now made safe, successfully resolving any problems for the customers.
The second phase will now commence on 27th February when the engineers will have ten months to complete the final crucial phase when the conversion to natural gas begins.
Once this final phase is completed all properties supplied by towns gas will be benefiting from the conversion.
The conversion process will begin in Ramsey, customers will be contacted before hand and given more details.
