Firefighters spent more than four hours dealing with a fire on Peel Golf Course yesterday.
Windy conditions saw a controlled burn spread out of control into a large area of gorse, sparking the alert at around 1pm.
Overhead electrical wires and pylons had to be isolated by Manx Utilities workers while fire crews used offroad vehicles and a water relay to bring the blaze under control.
The Fire and Rescue Service is reminding people to make sure they take suitable precautions before carrying out controlled burns.
