February numbers increase at airport

Passenger numbers at Ronaldsway during February showed an increase of over four per cent compared to last year – but the leap year effect has been mostly credited for this.

A total of 51,200 people used the airport last month, which was an increase of 4.23 per cent, and even without the leap year this still would have seen a jump of just under 1 per cent.

This follows another small increase in January with Flybe’s ski flights to Geneva proving popular with 85 per cent of seats sold while the other airlines also saw sales of well over 55 per cent

Liverpool traffic increased by 17 per cent, Manchester by 3.5 and Blackpool by 3.6 per cent.
