Driver and car washed down River Neb

The emergency services were out in force yesterday responding to an incident which saw a vehicle and its driver washed down the River Neb.

The bizarre incident happened as a result of the driver of the Citroen Picasso being caught out when attempting to cross the water splash on the Brack a Broom road near to Tynwald Mills.

The driver was able to notify the emergency services using his mobile phone.

1 fire appliance from Peel was immediately dispatched as well as a swift water rescue team from Douglas.

The car was discovered roughly three quarters of a mile downstream. 

The man was checked over as a precaution but had no injuries, the vehicle was then recovered.
