Douglas Council has applied for permission to transform part of Noble's Park into a water play area for children.
The local authority is asking planners to approve the plans, which would replace tennis courts in the park.
Earlier this year, the council revealed it was considering the plans after agreeing to fund the project in its last budget.
The splash area for children will come from the local authority's capital budget rather than being funded by ratepayers.
