Douglas City Council has issued a statement justifying its decision to start charging for streaming services at the crematorium.
It says it has to pay an outside company for the new service, as the old media system had poor audio quality and was becoming outdated.
The council explained the upgraded platform also has more functions, like professional recording and the ability to display tributes during services.
The local authority adds it will keep the fees under review to make sure they're fair for bereaved families.
