The Fire and Rescue was called out to a kitchen fire in Castletown in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters say they found a smoke-filled property when they arrived around 3.20am, Monday, August 10.
Neighbours had heard the smoke alarm and let the residents know.
The emergency service says the incident serves as a reminder to never leave cooking unattended, even briefly, particularly when using hobs or grills.
