Douglas City Council is asking residents to separate materials into recycling.
It says it noticed this morning that some commercial cardboard was mixed in with other recycling.
The council says this can cause a whole truckload to be rejected when it's sent for reprocessing, which not only costs money but also disrupts the entire recycling process.
It's asking people to be mindful of what goes into your recycling bins.
