The Department of Infrastructure says it wants to carry out work to stabilise a stream in the south of the Island so it doesn't erode its banks near houses.
The department has submitted a planning application to do the work in Qualtroughs Lane in Port Erin.
In its application, the DOI says it wants to build up the banks of a stream and line one side of its with fence posts.
It says the idea is to prevent further soil erosion around the watercourse.
