The Department of Home Affairs is looking into making changes to the alcohol licensing process for events.
Justice Minister Jane Poole-Wilson says it started with discussions in the Licensing Forum.
She's responded to a Tynwald question for written reply from Peel and Glenfaba MHK Kate Lord-Brennan, who wanted to know when the system would be simplified.
Mrs Poole-Wilson says the aim is to make it more flexible for licence holders to host private events without applying for a special permit each time.
