The Department of Infrastructure have been speaking to 3FM to answer a raft of criticism they received for not salting more roads this morning.
A number of angry 3FM listeners took to our facebook page to voice their concern over the lack of grit on some of the busy roads this morning.
The Mountain was covered yesterday evening in preparation following forecasts of frost above 1000 feet, as it transpired however there was widespread black ice leading to a number of minor road collisions.
We spoke to Alan Harding from the Department of Infrastructure; he said they determine where to grit on the recommendation of the Met Office.
