Firefighters were on hand yesterday to tackle a house fire in Glen Vine.
Crews from Douglas were called out to the property at Ballagarey on Wednesday evening and found a decommissioned back boiler had failed which was allowing smoke to travel through pipes and a vent into the bathroom where the old immersion was.
Teams were able to extinguish the flames and make the grate safe.
Personnel were at the scene for around an hour.
