A company's applied for planning permission to extend a quarry in the south of the Island.
Colas says using two fields next to its Billown Quarry on Foxdale Road would mean the site could produce 70,000 tonnes of stone for the next eight years.
The firm says it would work closely with Manx National Heritage to protect archaeological finds on the site.
It's also carried out noise assessments for its operations there, as well as an environmental impact assessment.
