A yellow weather warning is in place for coastal overtopping.
The notice from Ronaldsway Met Office came into force at 10pm last night and runs until 3pm on Friday.
Areas most likely to be affected are Castletown Promenade and Shore Road, Rushen, and possibly the northern end of Douglas Promenade and Laxey.
Strong South to Southwest winds are expected to bring some waves and a small amount of debris onto exposed roads.
