Casualties of War Will be Remembered Today at 11am

The Island will observe the two-minute silence this morning in memory of all of those who lost their lives fighting in the World Wars.

There will be a parade through Douglas at 9.30am with the precession making their way to St Thomas’s Church where there will be a service at 10pm.

A parade will form at Market Hill at 9.15am and move off at 9.30am through Duke Street, Strand Street, Castle Street, Marina Road, St Thomas's Walk and Market Street to Church Road Marina

Following the service they will then march down to the War memorial for the 2-minute silence.

A service will be held will be held at the Royal Chapel of St Johns at 3pm today. His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and the chief minister will be there.

Members of the public who wish to attend are asked to be seated in the church by 2.45pm.

Councillor David Christian said the event seems to grow in popularity each year.
