Major investment in one of the largest government run care homes was not a waste according to the Social Care Minister.c
Chris Robertshaw has defended his department’s plans to outsource a number of services including Cummal Mooar and Reayrt Ny Baie.
The department says the two homes do not meet acceptable standards for provision of care and will have to be totally replaced if taken over by a third party.
It’s a decision that’s sparked criticism from a number of MHKs including East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell who wants to know what cost savings will be achieved:
