The Office of Fair Trading is warning businesses they won't be able to charge extra for paying by card later this month.
The OFT say as of Saturday, January 13 traders have to charge the same price no matter how customers pay.
The new rule will come into effect not only for the Island, but for the UK and the EU.
The decision comes after Tynwald approving the OFT's request last year in December 2017.
