Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot says the government's constantly updating its building regulations to make sure the construction industry upholds high standards.
In the House of Keys this week, he was asked about the regulations by North Douglas MHK David Ashford.
He wanted to know what plans the Department of Environment, food and Agriculture has for reviewing the system.
Mr Boot said as existing buildings age, it's vital to make sure they meet standards for things like energy efficiency:
