The Ben-my-Chree is being brought out for service this evening to help with freight.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company confirmed that the trailer only service will leave Douglas at 5pm today.
The company said this is due to the tidal restrictions at Douglas Port this morning, which resulted in a longer than normal crossing overnight from Heysham.
The return sailing from Heysham has not yet been confirmed.
