Barclays confirmed it would close its Castletown branch in an email earlier this week.
MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse says the news was ‘unexpected’ for residents and local businesses.
The email states the decision came ‘following an extensive review’ of the amount of people who were using the branch and will officially close on 9 February next year.
