Coastguards were called out to the second unexploded shell in a week yesterday.
The emergency services were called after the ammunition was found on Castletown beach.
An army disposal team carried out a controlled explosion to make the shell safe.
Last week, a similar shell washed up on a beach in the north of the Island.
