Airlines faced accusations of ripping off passengers during TT in Tynwald this week.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford wanted to know why Birmingham flights a week before the festival cost £84, but rise to £265 in practice week and £271 in race week.
He asked whether the Department of Infrastructure would step in and regulate fares.
However Minister Ray Harmer said the increases were a sign the market was responding to supply and demand:
