Campaigners hoping to modernise the Island's abortion laws have handed a petition to Chief Minister Howard Quayle.
The Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation collected 2,795 signatures online - with 1,967 Island residents favouring a change in the law.
Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson will introduce a private member's bill in the House of Keys later this year in an attempt to end the plight of women forced to travel to the UK for the procedure.
CALM presented its petition to the chief minister at his office in government buildings in Douglas this morning.
