The Department of Education and Children says more than 50 youngsters are currently being home schooled.
A freedom of information request to the department asked for details about children of primary and secondary school age.
In its response, the department says a total of 57 students are currently registered for home education.
Of those, 35 are of primary school age while another 22 are secondary school age.
