A 23-year-old woman is in hospital after suffering serious injuries to her body following an assault.
It happened last night at around 8.45pm in the area of Demesne Road in Douglas – police say she now requires extensive hospital treatment.
The woman was the only victim of the attack however officers say it is likely that a number of young people were present at the time.
Anyone who was in the area and who witnessed what happened has been asked to contact Police Headquarters or Crimestoppers.
