The Department of Health and Social Care has applied for planning permission to carry out repairs and improvements at Ramsey Cottage Hospital.
In its application, the department says the facility on Cumberland Road needs work to stop water and pests getting into the building.
And it says the work will also address a backlog of maintenance issues.
The application shows work earmarked for roofs over the hospital's mortuary and two operating theatres.
