Warning issued over privacy risks posed by smart glasses

The Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey's data protection authorities are warning about the privacy risks of smart glasses.

The Crown Dependencies have joined forces to warn the devices can capture people, conversations and personal information without their knowledge.

They say recordings could also be stored or processed by manufacturers and cloud services outside the Islands.

Individuals and organisations are being urged to think carefully about when smart glasses are used and how any recordings are handled.
