Government has continued its focus on international development hosting a representative from one of the world’s smallest democracies.
Alex Mitham is set to become the administrator of Tristan da Cunha in the south Atlantic.
Less than 300 people live on the tiny territory which was first inhabited in the late 1800s.
Mr Mitham visited the Isle of Man for two days to learn more about the government of small nations and build contacts here.
The volcanic island of Tristan is accessible only by a seven-day boat journey from Cape Town and is 1,500 miles away from the nearest land mass.
