The government says it expects tougher rules for lorries will raise an extra £30,000 in their first year.
This week in the House of Keys, Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper quizzed Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer about the new regulations for HGVs.
In particular, he wanted to know how much cash the new rules will raise and what extra money the DOI has put aside to make sure they're followed.
Mr Harmer said around £30,000 will be raised, which will be used to fund the Road Transport Licensing Committee as it enforces the new regulations.
