More burglaries were reported in the south of the Island over the weekend - bringing the running total to 27.
Shortly after 11pm on Saturday police were called to Victoria Road in Castletown - arriving on scene minutes after the offender had fled.
Although officers were in pursuit of the person they managed to evade capture in The Abbey area of Ballasalla.
Police believe they used a nearby outbuilding to hide in whilst officers conducted a search - anyone with outbuildings in that area is asked to check them for anything untoward.
On the same evening, between 6.40pm and 11.40pm, jewellery was stolen from a house on Rhenwyllan Close in Port St Mary - a further burglary happened in a nearby house the night before.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters immediately.
