The Silver Line could launch a regular meet-up for older people on the Isle of Man.
Island chairman of the charity, Doug Stewart, says if he can’t find an appropriate venue for 'The Silver Circle', he’s willing to hold it in his own home.
Manx residents are calling the befriending service more often than in the UK.
Mr Stewart says founder Esther Rantzen and chief executive Sophie Andrews came up with the idea, which could help many overcome loneliness:
School suspension figures released
Police launch recruitment drive
Second amber weather warning issued today
Mountain Road closed after snow
Two Manxman crossings called off
New warning for coastal overtopping at high tide
Government wants to re-roof governor's home
EVF to roll out body cameras to all Island stores
