Stop-checks uncover red diesel and vehicle faults

Vehicles have been caught using red diesel on the Island's roads.

Stop-checks were conducted last week as part of the Roads Policing Unit's winter campaign.

Sergeant Steven Lapsley says drivers are looking to get out of paying VAT on their fuel:

In addition 35 vehicles were pulled over at The Grandstand last Thursday - all of which had faults with things like tyres and lighting; Gordon Edwards is the road safety manager:
