A teenager from Onchan has been fined after being caught speeding outside a school.
Police stopped 19-year-old Jordan James Cowin, of Birch Hill, near QEII High School just after 7.30pm on April 22 nd .
Officers had recorded him travelling at 51 miles per hour in the 30 zone - at the scene Cowin told them: "I’m sorry - I know I’ve done something wrong."
At Douglas Courthouse on Thursday Cowin admitted the offence via Coroner’s Admission.
Magistrates fined him £210 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50 - his driving licence was also endorsed with five penalty points.
