This year's Douglas soap box race has been cancelled.
Event organizer - Elliott Moore - says the cancellation is not to do with potholes as rumours suggest, but because they can't get the right insurance.
However, sponsor MicroGaming has still donated £1,000 to the event's chosen cause The Fire Fighters Charity.
The soap box race follows decorated homemade karts and was supposed to take place on Saturday 4th September - they are hoping to be back next year.
