Snowy morning brings travel disruption

The Island's waking up to a dusting of snow this morning, with an amber weather warning for ice and wintry showers in place until 12pm. 

The Mountain Road remains shut, with the Department of Infrastructure saying it will review this later today. 

Drivers are being asked to consider whether their journeys are essential and to drive to the conditions. 

Government's announced schools will be closed this morning, with a review to take place at 10.30am for a possible re-opening at 12.30pm. 

Bus Vannin says all services are currently suspended, with an update also to be given shortly. 

Civil Defence is advising people to take care as roads and paths are extremely icy, and says to help out you can thrown some grit on the pavements and road near your home.
