Chief Minister Alf Cannan's announced plans to appoint Chris Thomas as treasury minister today.
It comes alongside the announcement earlier this morning, Monday, January, 19, that Dr Alex Allinson is stepping down from the post.
Douglas Central MHK Thomas says his immediate focus will be to address concerns about the new minimum wage in April, by 'taking a slower approach to the increase being proposed".
Mr Thomas adds he'll also work with treasury officers to "ensure there is a substantial rise in personal allowances at the budget.".
