Sheep put down following dog attack

It would appear a recent warning to dog owners to keep their animals under control near to farmland has gone unheeded, with fatal consequences.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attack on a number of sheep during the late afternoon of Friday last week.

The incident occurred in farmer's fields between the Douglas Crematorium and Ballanard Road.

The attack caused severe injuries to a number of sheep and lambs causing them to be put down, it's the second time such an incident has happened in this location in the past few weeks.

The dog in question would most likely have been quite bloodied afterwards, with the police urging the owner, or any witnesses to come forward.
