Secure your oil tank to deter crime, say police

Officers want people to buy an approved lock for their fuel tanks in a bid to stop criminals targeting them over the colder months. 

 

They say thieves target tanks when they are left visible, unsecured and easily accessible - homeowners are being advised to use garden trellis and climbing plants to make them difficult to climb on.
