Schoolchildren have ventured to school today on the steam railway and tram services - instead of the buses.
It marks the start of three days of industrial action by bus drivers who are unhappy with changes to their terms and conditions.
In the south a temporary platform has been created on the Castletown bypass so that children can get off nearer to Castle Rushen.
