Scheme on lookout for budding chefs

Could you be the Island's future Master Chef?

The University College Isle of Man is welcoming aspiring chefs to find out more about the new ‘Manx Culinary Apprenticeship Scheme’ at an upcoming event later this month.

It'll take place on Tuesday, November 19 between 4pm - 7pm at the Homefield Road Campus in Douglas.

The scheme is based around workplace employment with apprentices completing a 12-month programme; that incorporates one day a week at college and four days in a working kitchen.

It's open to anyone over 16 and there are no specific entry requirements other than a desire to learn culinary skills.

Upon completion, successful apprentices will be awarded a NVQ Level 2 ‘City and Guilds’ Diploma in Professional Cookery -the next course will start in January 2020.
