RNLI offer sea safety advice at Manx roadshows

Over the next two weekends Manx residents can get free sea safety advice.

As the spring approaches and summer gets nearer, more residents and tourists will be heading out for leisurely trips in the sea.

Gordon Dickens, RNLI Lifeboat Sea Safety Officer for the Isle of Man told 3FM about sea safety road shows that will be offering free health and safety advice.

There were about 30 lifeboat callouts on the Isle of Man in the last year. People can go and learn more about sea safety Saturday in Ramsey and Sunday in Peel.

There will be On Saturday 12th March between 10 am and 2 pm the show will be near Ramsey Lifeboat Station on Queens Promenade. On Sunday 13th March, also between 10 am and 2 pm, the show will be at Peel, in the boatyard car park. The following weekend, and at the same times, on Saturday 19th March the venue is to be Douglas Bay Yacht Club and on Sunday 20th March the show travels southside to Port St Mary, by the harbour office.

Gordon says anybody can come along with interest in the sea from people small plastic rubber lilo's to Ocean monsters. (audio above).
